The punk scene is still alive, thriving and going down at the 12th Annual Punxmas Fest, December 8th and 9th 2017 @ the Houston Undrgrnd. 21 bands, 2 days, vendors, food trucks, artist and more. If you’ve never seen punk bands live, then I suggest you do so, the energy is unreal and you will have a great time with friends throwing down some brews listening to hard core music.
Event has been done for the past 12 years and James McDowell has taken the lead for the past three years. James plays guitar and is lead vocals for Gen Why and when asked why does he continue to throw this event, he stated it was one of the biggest punk rock shows of the year and everyone gets together to have a good time, like a family getting together for the holidays. We’re not related, but this is our family, punk rock is or family and whether it be street punk, hard core punk, skate punk, grind core, hard core or anything like that, everyone gets together at Punxmas to have a good time and no one has any problems with each other. Just getting together enjoying each others company, listening to some bad ass music and getting all of our energy out there. That is what makes Punxmas what it is!
I could not have said that any better and we will be there to support our local punk bands with James. Keep an eye out for our next News blog showcasing photos and article sharing Punxmas with those who could not make it.
